During this project, I was met with many creative challenges and obstacles throughout, such as creating a convincing 3 act story-line trailer through practical and digital methods. Along the way, I have also learned new various methods and techniques for me to achieve in producing a completed animation video trailer with sound and kinetic typography. Being in control of my project had allowed me to better organize my time keeping skills through time management plans. It also proves that I can set-up important tasks that I need to focus on first before I advance to the next one. I found that this helps me work in a professional manner without feeling pressured or stressed. At times, I did find that some of the problems that I had encountered halted my progress for a fair amount of time. Such as what context of film theories should I base my FMP essay on, or why is animatic’s mp3 audio not importing into Adobe Animate. These problematic obstacles were solved by researching by myself or with another professional teacher. If I was able to repeat doing this project again, I would spend more time planning earlier on what research I specifically need to meet my project’s concept brief. This would have allowed me to perform on getting the research done quickly. This could have resulted in me to have spare time to produce my own Sound FXs, Voice Overs, background and poster illustrations to support my project. I did not rely on anyone to collaborate towards my project idea but gathering opinions from peers did help me improve my project more. Overall, I thought that I managed my given time well enough for me to produce in-depth research, visual concept ideas, and especially the animated trailer project itself. I plan to present most of my production work, including the animated movie trailer video and concept art as posters to my specific audience group that is interested in sci-fi/post-apocalyptic movies. I was glad to set-up high standard tasks to test and improve my skills to produce more ambitious projects. This encouraged me to put more time, passion and dedication to completing my project before the end of its deadline.
Work for Unit Criteria
1.1: Research Critical and Contextual perspectives for creative media production project proposal.
I felt that my research was a critical point towards my project. I gathered a wide variety of research which includes contextual theories based on historical and technical methods. The research proved to be useful enough to understand and respond to film audiences behavior, narrative, and colour theory.

1.2: Reflection and Evaluation.
Throughout my research, idea development and time management planning, I have a continuous reflection within each of my blog posts notes. I have also written up reflective paragraphs at the end of each week to evaluate how well I was progressing. I constantly gathering critical peer feedback from other students to help support me and the project.

2.1: Supportive Research For My Project’s Idea Development.
I have in-depth research on how film trailers are structured, character design and storytelling through animation. Each of them shares a similar element of sci-fi/post-apocalypse genre as intended in my project’s brief. I have written my own reflective comments on how these techniques will support my media project.

2.2: Analysing and Evaluating My Research
I managed to write up an in-depth analysis of how movies are structured through 3 acts featured in a trailer. I have also written a short evaluation about how it gives an influential solution on how to build an intriguing trailer for my audience.

3.1: Solving and Practical and Technical processes
Throughout my project’s idea development and production, I explored various practical and technical problems to solve. In order for me to create a short story for my animated trailer, the script’s had to be tightened down to short and to follow. I wanted to take a different approach to create my animation by work each scene on separate files. I found this to be a much easier method rather than animating the whole video on one file.

3.2: Theoretical Understanding
I researched colour theory and narrative theory to help me build the final outcomes to the script and the use of colour for character drawings and the animated movie trailer video.

4.1: Time Action Plan
Throughout each upcoming week on my final major project, I had set-up a weekly grid of the 5 working days at college. Every day throughout that week, I had written down set task to complete through the following week. On each weekly time management plan, I had written my own reflective comment about how well I was progressing through the project.

5.1: Exploration Through Practical Methods and Skills
Throughout my idea development, I explored a variety of adaptions on designing my characters and script through map plans and drawings. These skills allowed me to produce all these assets which resulted in creating multiple storyboards to choose for my animatic and final animation.

6.1: Maintaining Evaluative and Peer Review Comments Throughout development and Production
I have constantly been writing down my personal thoughts that reflect upon my character designs, storyboards, animation and sound processes throughout. I continuously made creative decisions to what did and did not suitably work for my project. I have also constantly been gathering peer reviews to help support me make the decisions best for my project throughout the project’s development and production stages.

6.2: Evaluative and Reflective Skills for Creative Decisions Towards Project
I had written a midpoint evaluation to reflect on the progress that I made for my project and to give my overall impressions with it so far. I mentioned about how I started the production stage later than I intended, so I used my reflective skills to make changes to my proposal’s plans and continue to find solutions to help produce my project’s animation trailer before the deadline.

7.1: Explore Strategies To Present Production Project
I have made some strategic plans on how I could present my overall project. By doing this, I did some research to see how exhibitions are presented in a professional manner. I then reflected from the research to visually sketch and write out plans on how my exhibition can be presented to my target audience.

7.2: Presenting My Project Towards Its Specified Audience
I have mentioned about how both my final animated trailer and exhibition pieces meet the specific audience similar to the project’s proposal and brief. I animated my movie trailer scenes to present captivating visuals, characters, and audio to emotionally connect with my audience for them to care about. I produced the project’s animated trailer and exhibition concept art posters to be based on the sci-fi/post-apocalyptic genre. This is what I originally intended from the brief to meet my specific audience’s interest for them to enjoy.
